What happened to TurboPepe

Short version: it launched, it spiked, it faded, and the team stopped working on it. The liquidity was never pulled, which is the detail that separates this from an exit scam.

Why this is not a rug pull

In a rug pull the deployer removes the liquidity from the pool. Holders are then left with a token that has no market: there is nothing on the other side of the trade, so sell orders cannot fill at any price.

That did not happen here. The Uniswap V2 pool still holds roughly $42,740 of liquidity, and anyone can verify this directly on the pair contractor on GeckoTerminal. The project also published a contract audit and ran with zero buy and sell tax, which is the opposite of the usual honeypot setup.

What this means for holders. You can still sell, and no one can stop you. The limit is depth, not permission — see how much the pool can absorb.

What actually killed it

The decline from the launch-day peak to today is 96.2%. That is not unusual for a memecoin launched during the Pepe wave; it is close to the median outcome. Hundreds of Pepe derivatives launched in the same eight weeks, competing for the same attention, and almost none of them held it.

The token never reached a meaningful valuation to begin with: the peak fully diluted value was about $794,302, and pool liquidity topped out near $126,000. Price trackers publish a much larger all-time high, whichthe on-chain record does not support.

The roadmap set out a CEX listing and a Crypto.com listing. Neither happened. Without a listing the token stayed dependent on one Uniswap pool, and once the launch attention faded there was nothing to bring new buyers in. The NFT collection and the racing game were an attempt to create that reason, but they arrived after the attention had gone.

Questions

Is TurboPepe dead?

As a project, yes — there has been no development, no announcements and no marketing for a long time. As a token, not entirely: the contract works, the pool holds liquidity, and trades are still technically possible.

Did the team rug pull?

There is no on-chain evidence of a rug pull. In a rug pull the liquidity is removed from the pool, leaving holders unable to sell. Here the liquidity is still in the pool. The pattern is abandonment.

Could it come back?

Nothing prevents anyone from buying the token, but a revival would require a team, liquidity and demand. None of those are present. Treat any claim of a relaunch with suspicion and verify the contract address first.
